12u Takes 3rd at Season Opening Tournament

The 12u Thunder took 3rd place in their first tournament action of the delayed 2020 season at the Kenosha Fusion Blast Off into Summer Tournament this past weekend.

After going 2-1 in pool play, the Thunder controlled their opening bracket game from start to finish, then took the eventual champions down to the wire, falling 6-5 in the semifinals.

Strong pitching and timely hitting were common themes this weekend, with contributions up and down the line-up (especially in bracket play). The Thunder now wait for Illinois to move into Phase 4 so our local game and tournament slate can get started in late June / early July.

All in all, it was great to be back out on the field and the girls look primed for a strong season.
