Junior Thunder Program Details

Who: Girls ages 11 and under who are new to or interested in exploring fastpitch softball. Younger athletes are welcome, although most participants are typically between 8 and 10 years old.

When: Twelve 90-minute training sessions held on approximately three out of every four Sunday afternoons, beginning January 10, 2027, and continuing through late April. The program will pause for Spring Break, Easter, and other major holidays. 

Where: The ThunderDome, our indoor softball training facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Time: 11 am - 12:30 pm

Cost: $250 per player.

Does my daughter need softball experience?

No. Junior Thunder is designed for girls who are new to softball as well as players who already have some recreational or house league experience.

Is Junior Thunder a travel softball team?

No. Junior Thunder is a winter training program. However, it can help prepare players who may be interested in attending Thunder travel softball tryouts next summer.

What ages can participate?

The program is open to girls ages 11 and under. Most past participants have been between 8 and 10 years old, but younger players are welcome.

Where is the program held?

All sessions are held at the ThunderDome, Thunder Fastpitch’s indoor training facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

When does the program begin?

The 2027 Junior Thunder program begins Sunday, January 10, and runs through late April.
