Arlington Heights Thunder Fastpitch Softball

As we wind down our fourth season of Thunder fastpitch softball and many of our teams participate in end of season tournaments this week and next as well as prepare for the start of next season in a few weeks, arguably our sport's biggest star has some words of encouragement and inspiration for our young athletes.  Thanks for the pep talk Ms. Alexander, you have a lot of fans in the Thunder Fastpitch Family!

12u Teal and 14u both participated in the Deerfield Warrior Classic this weekend and delivered strong performances that lead to appearances in the Championship Game.  12u Teal was firing on all cylinders offensively, posting double digit run totals in every game except the Championship. Strong pitching was on display as well with a shutout to show for it during pool play. Congratulations on another strong performance, 12u Teal has now made the Championship in consecutive tournaments for the first time all season.  14u similarly found success both with the bats and on the mound. An 8 - 0 shutout to open play against Evanston was followed by a 6 - 4 win over Northbrook in pool play. Their run to another Championship title fell just short, having instead to settle for a second-place finish to a strong Orland Park team. 14u continues to play well across the board and has really learned how to take things up a notch on tournament Sundays. All seven teams were back in action this week and a strong performance by our Thunder teams that participated in the Thunderbolt Classic highlighted a 22 - 7 weekend record!  Thunder 10u Black  Fresh off a strong finish in the Ice Cream Classic last weekend, 10u Black was right back to work and right back to winning. After having their nine-game winning streak snapped in bracket play last weekend, 10u Black ran off six straight wins before falling in the Championship game of the Thunderbolt Classic. This marked their second, second place tournament finish of the season, and caps off a terrific 15 – 2 record in their last seventeen games. Congratulations ladies!  6 - 1 this weekend and a second place finish! Thunder 10u Teal  Thunder Teal also had a strong showing in the Thunderbolt Classic, falling in the semi-finals to finish in fourth place. Teal started bracket play with a great effort on the mound by Hannah, holding the #3 seed Warriors to just two runs on their way to pulling off
